Community Guidelines
Effective date: 28 September 2026
Heyvently exists so people can say things they may not feel able to say elsewhere. These Guidelines explain what belongs here and what crosses the line into abuse, danger, exploitation, or unlawful conduct.
They apply to vents, feature suggestions, votes, sponsorship-related content, reports, and other content or activity on Heyvently.
1. What Heyvently is for
You can use Heyvently to share:
- thoughts that will not slow down;
- feelings that are hard to explain;
- relationship experiences;
- grief, loneliness, anger, fear, disappointment, or frustration;
- difficult life experiences;
- personal questions;
- things you need to get off your chest;
- lessons or reflections from your experiences; and
- other lawful personal expression that does not violate these Guidelines.
Negative emotions are not violations by themselves.
Someone can be angry, sad, overwhelmed, resentful, heartbroken, confused, or distressed and still be allowed to express that experience.
2. Do not threaten or facilitate violence
Do not use Heyvently to:
- make credible threats of violence;
- encourage another person to commit violence;
- provide instructions intended to facilitate serious violence;
- coordinate violent attacks; or
- celebrate or encourage serious violence against identifiable people or groups.
Expressions of anger or frustration are not automatically threats. Context matters.
3. Harassment, stalking, and targeted abuse
Do not use Heyvently to repeatedly target a person or group with:
- threats;
- intimidation;
- stalking;
- degrading or abusive campaigns;
- coercion;
- humiliation intended to cause harm;
- coordinated harassment; or
- other behaviour designed to make someone unsafe or unable to participate online.
A negative opinion about someone is not automatically harassment. The concern is targeted abusive behaviour, threats, intimidation, or sustained harmful conduct.
4. Privacy and doxxing
Do not publish another person's private information to expose, intimidate, threaten, stalk, or harm them.
This includes, for example:
- private home addresses;
- private phone numbers;
- private email addresses;
- passwords or authentication information;
- financial account information;
- precise live-location information;
- confidential employment or medical information; or
- other sensitive personal information where publication creates a meaningful risk of harm.
Do not use Heyvently to identify or deanonymise another anonymous user.
5. Child safety
Heyvently is 18+.
Do not post or request:
- child sexual abuse material;
- sexual content involving minors;
- sexual exploitation of minors;
- grooming or sexual solicitation of minors;
- instructions facilitating child exploitation; or
- content intended to endanger a child.
We may preserve relevant information and make reports to appropriate authorities where required or permitted by law.
6. Non-consensual intimate content
Do not publish or threaten to publish intimate images or sexual content of another person without their consent.
Do not use Heyvently for sexual blackmail, sextortion, or coercion.
7. Fraud, scams, phishing, and blackmail
Do not use Heyvently to:
- impersonate people for fraud;
- solicit money through deceptive schemes;
- distribute phishing links or credential-stealing material;
- facilitate identity theft;
- blackmail or extort someone;
- advertise fraudulent services; or
- manipulate people into surrendering money, credentials, or sensitive information.
8. Malware and technical abuse
Do not upload, distribute, or link to malicious code or instructions intended to compromise systems, steal information, evade security controls, or disrupt Heyvently.
Do not abuse rate limits, reporting, voting, deletion, payment, or other platform mechanisms.
9. Self-harm and suicide-related content
People may talk about emotional pain, suicidal thoughts, self-harm experiences, grief, or mental-health struggles.
Those subjects are not automatically prohibited.
We may restrict or remove content that, in context, encourages, instructs, glorifies, romanticises, or meaningfully facilitates serious self-harm or suicide, particularly where it creates an immediate or substantial safety risk.
Heyvently is not a crisis-response service. See the Safety & Reporting Policy for what to do if someone may be in immediate danger.
10. Harm to other people
Do not provide instructions, encouragement, or facilitation for serious harm to another person.
Personal accounts of anger, conflict, abuse, or violent experiences may be permitted when they do not themselves create a serious safety risk.
11. Defamation, misinformation, and accusations
Users are responsible for what they publish.
Do not use Heyvently to deliberately fabricate serious allegations about identifiable people for the purpose of causing harm.
We recognise that people may describe their own experiences and perceptions. Where a dispute concerns whether an allegation is true, context and available evidence matter.
12. Spam and manipulation
Do not use Heyvently to:
- flood the service with repetitive posts;
- manipulate feature votes;
- coordinate artificial engagement;
- evade platform limits;
- automate activity in a way that harms the service; or
- use multiple technical identities to abuse platform systems.
13. Illegal activity
Do not use Heyvently to organise, facilitate, or materially assist unlawful activity.
This does not mean that people cannot discuss difficult or illegal experiences, ask questions, or seek help. Context matters, but content that facilitates serious wrongdoing may be removed or reported.
14. How enforcement works
Depending on severity, context, history, and available information, Heyvently may:
- leave content up;
- request or encourage a safer version;
- restrict or remove content;
- restrict access to platform features;
- block abusive technical activity;
- preserve relevant records;
- refer matters to appropriate authorities where legally required or reasonably necessary; or
- take other proportionate action.
Heyvently does not promise that every report will result in removal or that every violation will be detected.
15. Reporting
The current report flow offers:
- Inappropriate content
- Harassment or harmful behaviour
After a successful report, the platform displays:
The post has been flagged for review
A report does not automatically hide or delete the post.
For urgent safety situations, use the Safety & Reporting Policy rather than relying on ordinary platform reporting.
16. Good-faith participation
You are encouraged to report genuine safety and abuse concerns. Do not use reporting, voting, or other platform mechanisms to harass someone, manipulate outcomes, or deliberately submit false reports.
17. Updates
These Guidelines may change as Heyvently grows, as new abuse patterns appear, or as legal requirements change.
