Safety & Reporting Policy
Effective date: 28 September 2026
Heyvently is designed for anonymous expression, but it is not an emergency-response service, crisis hotline, medical service, or law-enforcement service.
If you or another person is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate local emergency service or a qualified crisis/emergency resource directly. Do not rely on a Heyvently report to obtain immediate intervention.
1. When to report content
Report a post when you believe it involves:
- inappropriate content;
- harassment or harmful behaviour;
- threats or serious violence;
- stalking or intimidation;
- doxxing or dangerous disclosure of private information;
- child sexual exploitation or other child-safety concerns;
- non-consensual intimate imagery;
- fraud, scams, phishing, blackmail, or extortion;
- serious self-harm or suicide encouragement/instructions;
- instructions or encouragement for serious harm to another person;
- malicious technical activity; or
- another serious violation of the Community Guidelines.
2. Current report reasons
Heyvently currently provides exactly two report reasons:
- Inappropriate content
- Harassment or harmful behaviour
Choose the reason that most closely matches the concern.
3. What happens after a report
After a successful report, Heyvently displays:
The post has been flagged for review
The report is recorded for moderation and abuse-prevention purposes.
Reporting does not automatically hide or delete a post.
A report may be reviewed together with available context and relevant platform records. Depending on the circumstances, Heyvently may take action, leave the content unchanged, remove it, restrict related activity, or preserve information for legal or safety purposes.
We do not promise a particular response time or outcome.
4. Immediate danger
If a person appears to face immediate danger of death or serious injury:
- Contact the appropriate emergency service or crisis resource in the person's location.
- If you know the person and can safely reach a trusted person nearby, consider encouraging immediate real-world help.
- You may also report the Heyvently content so it can enter our moderation process.
Do not wait for Heyvently to respond before seeking emergency help.
5. Suicide and self-harm
Heyvently permits people to talk about emotional pain, suicidal thoughts, past self-harm, grief, and mental-health struggles.
We may act against content that encourages, instructs, glorifies, romanticises, or materially facilitates serious self-harm or suicide.
If someone appears to be in immediate danger, use local emergency or crisis services. Heyvently cannot guarantee real-time monitoring or intervention.
6. Threats and violence
We may take action against credible threats, instructions for serious violence, violent coordination, or content that meaningfully facilitates harm.
If you believe an immediate physical threat exists, contact the relevant emergency or law-enforcement service rather than relying on a platform report.
7. Child safety
Any suspected child sexual exploitation or serious child-safety threat should be reported through Heyvently's reporting tools and, where appropriate, to the relevant authorities or child-protection service.
Do not download, save, forward, or redistribute illegal sexual material involving children.
Heyvently may preserve relevant records and cooperate with lawful investigations.
8. Doxxing and privacy threats
If a post exposes private information that could put someone at risk, report it promptly.
Heyvently may restrict or remove the content and may preserve records where necessary to investigate abuse or comply with law.
9. Law-enforcement and legal requests
Heyvently may disclose information when legally required or when otherwise permitted by applicable law.
Where legally permitted, we may preserve relevant records in response to valid legal processes or serious safety concerns.
We do not promise that every legal request will result in disclosure. Requests are handled according to applicable law.
10. Limitations of moderation
Moderation is not perfect.
Heyvently may not see every violation, may misunderstand context, and may receive incomplete or misleading reports. Anonymous posting also means that we may not be able to identify the people involved in a dispute.
A report should therefore be treated as a request for review, not as proof that a violation occurred.
11. Good-faith reporting
Use reports for genuine concerns.
Do not abuse the reporting system to silence people merely because you dislike their opinion, to target someone, or to manipulate moderation.
12. Safety resources
The Heyvently Support directory is a directory of external support, crisis, and emergency resources. It is not a substitute for those organisations.
Because availability, telephone numbers, operating hours, eligibility, and service coverage can change, verify the details of an external resource when possible.
